A moderate success

After last year failure to have my Ortensia (Hydrangea) in bloom, I was not asking for more than making it survive the hot season. But I was wrong.

Certificate

Very well. Even though a bit later than expected, this year I've reached and passed my first 1000 meters over the sea level on a bicycle. The last two ramps before reaching the top (with the unmissable Gasthaus) have been quite challenging. I've been again tempted to give up and turn back but, not knowing the road ahead, sometimes can help reaching the goal. I must now immediately set another one: I'm thinking to ride 100 km in a row. It's certainly at my reach.

1020 s.l.m.

And I won't go any farther.

I got on top of the highest point reachable by bicycle in the nearby hills, this morning. The last hundreds of meters have been sufficiently steep and painful to let me think about turning the handlebar and going downhill on the same road I just climbed. But I was firm with myself and insisted, even stopping once to breathe in a silence so deep to ear my heart beating hard inside, till I reached the bent where the road flattens and you can feel your legs rolling free.

A gate

A the end of the trail, civilization appears again from nowhere. And you know it's time to wake up.

I made this

Whit Monday Commitment

Another day off. Another day that I'll spend staying somehow segregated at home. This time the virus has no faults. Neither has the weather. It's going to be a nice day; better than the past one. I could take a tour or a hike uphill, if I only wanted.
I made a long tour on my mountain bike yesterday morning, under a persistent rain. After those ninety kilometres, I needed a day of rest. I'm not that fit to take two rides in a row. I tried it last week and paid it with a terrible ache at my loins. So, waiting for our son to come back home, after two nights spent by his girlfriend's, I challenged myself again with some panini all'olio.

I know that, what ever the result is going to be, it will be a success.
