Geranium

I checked the conditions of all the plants that I put under an improvised glasshouse, on my balcony and found that much before the big typical chill of February, beside a small lemon tree that still stand upright and green, everything else has gone, frozen, death. Paradoxically, only those few lingering for fresh air behind the window panes are still alive and aiming for the sun.

Tivoli

A walk at the very edge of the old town.

Roma

A sunny winter afternoon in Rome. In a moment when everybody should be paying special attention to where we're putting our feet, I keep on walking looking upwards.

For those about to ride ...

... we salute you!

I have waited till today, a splendid and sunny Sunday morning, before dusting off my mountain-bike and opening the season with a small tour around the ThalerSee area, not far from where I am. Few kilometers north from here here so much snow that I couldn't afford a ride along the Mur. So I cautiously opted for a smaller circuit. After more than a couple of months of inactivity, I was feeling a little fearful and undecided whether to start with running or cycling. The decision is still pending. The hour and half spent on the bike was worth.

New Year's Day on the Road

Let's begin this new year in the best of all possible ways: on the road. And what better than waking up early on the very first day, after going bed not too late, having a quick refreshing shower and putting our luggage on the car?

We have spent the last evening of the year together with friends in Saronno, our former life town. I was missing from there since our relocation to Graz and must admit I had something like a knot down in the throat, while passing through the town, to reach our destination. That's why I didn't insist too much this morning for a stop in the city's main square for breakfast. We arrived with the dark and went away before anyone else could spot us, in stealth mode. Too many things to be done are waiting for us in Graz. Still, before heading our boat to east, we stopped at Lainate for our last cornetto e cappuccino for a while.
I've been passing right in front of this building for sixteen years, without stopping one time. I had to become a tourist to do it.
