[Poetry] may make us from time to time a little aware of the deeper unnamed feelings which form the substratum of our being, to which we rarely penetrate; for our lives are mostly a constant evasion of ourselves. T.S.Eliot

The "Tivoli" you won't expect
I'm not used to post videos on my blog. This time I'll make an exception.

International Earth & Sky Photo Contest 2014
The World At Night
I'm not used (at least in recent times) to post pictures not mine. Nevertheless from time to time it happens to find out there, on the web some very good food for thoughts or for inspiration. This collection of photographs is taken from The World At Night, "an international effort to present stunning night-scape photos and time-lapse videos of the world’s landmarks against celestial attractions". Nearly ten minutes well spent.

Landscapes
Landscape photography is something that everyone, at least once in his life, has experienced. I always find very difficult to resist from taking the gears out of my backpack and snap a picture when mother nature offers its best to our eyes.
Apparently this video has very little to do with photography. Yet, the most experienced will soon recognize that this breathtaking clip is actually made of several still pictures taken from a standard (high-end) camera, mounted on a dolly with a remote controlled step motor that enables it to move the minimum that is necessary to make the resulting picture feel as if it was three dimensional. It's something worth being watched full screen and listened with an hi-fy audio system. Enjoy!

Source of inspiration
The very first light of the coming day is visible outside the window of my kitchen. I had high fever all night long. Couldn't sleep at all. Waiting for a painkiller to make its effect I'm surfing around the web and just came across this video. I could not resist the temptation of linking it here. It has apparently very few to do with photography but it's so inspiring ...
